Maybe I will buy some yellow paint spray cans. For emergency use.

As long as your receiver won't mind the 'permanence...' Go for it~! (Or yellow Duck Tape...they DO make that, you know. Zebra print, too. My teens probably have them all, LoL..)

    Its VERY normal

    I carry a 18 inch sqaure. A 90 degree strip of metal.

Slap one end against the building. Spray paint a hot pink line along it

Aim for it while backing. If you get it close enough then alls well.

At night however if pitch dark, I put out the LED lantern down at a particular spot then aim the outer right or left trailer tire directly at but BARELY MISS it or even nudge it over a inch. Close enough.

Ford assembly in Buffalo, the foreman intoned "Not acceptable. Not square." when one of my trailer corner is less than one inch from the side of the concrete dock while there is a foot of dock plate over the edge and ready to plop onto my trailer floor.

Such picky picky picky nit picking tiny stuff made me lose my temper. I put the light down against the building dock wall. And then proceeded to add max power in granny low reverse and slammed the trailer square.

BOOOOOOM stopped the whole plant with echoes for a minute.

Not another word from Foreman. I jabbed my finger down to square trailer floor now carrying bits of concrete and looked at him and said

There is your square. I will not be back again ever in my life time. Life is too short to be picking about square.

    He turned purple.

Indeed I would never see him or that place again ever.

Take your wheel chocks or an old pair of gloves, a hat, water bottles, really anything handy and place one item 20' from the dock, and another one 45 or 50' out and sight it up with with the dock plate so it's all in a line. You won't look dumb, you'll look clever.
If you forget your chocks or gloves when you leave you'll look dumb.
Ask me how many mismatched gloves i have!!

LoL... that's why I used to use cones.... so as not to forget my triangles. Flashlights work well, also.. just more costly.

Square your shoulders to the dock and pick out a point directly in front of the dock about 100 ft. Key that off the center of your hood as you back in
