Let me tell you about weather and jobsite del.:biggrin_25510:
I do alot of wind site jobs. The weather can be a killer, but we have a clause in contracts for that.

The poster kinda got caught with his pants down.
He wants fair money for waiting which is right.
There are times even a bulldozer is not going to get you into the site. Trust me I know.:biggrin_25521:
Also before they hook to you make sure you have in writing they will pay for all damages to trk. and trl. being pulled into the site..
Crap does happen and they should be help for it.

Last job I was on they bought two front end pull pins/ 1 tarp box and pass.side steps. due to being pulled in the mud.

Good luck with this issue, but do bill for down time. We give them 4 hours and then we have a day rate as well for every work day. Some jobs are 5 days a week. Some 6 or 7

Tell both the broker and the construction company they have 24 hours until you sell the pipe to a scrap yard. It legally belongs to your carrier when they loaded it on your truck and signed a BOL. With the price of scrap steel or aluminum at the present time, it might be more profitable than the actual rate you were going to get for hauling it.
Trust me, this will work, and it is a lot easier than trying to get detention time out of any of these type of people.

3noses, that works remarkably well for copper wire coils as well. Once they hear you are going to sell things they get hopping.

Again HOW DO YOU SELL something that does NOT BELONG to YOU , :biggrin_25523: the pipe does not belong to the PERSON hauling it just because its on their TRAILER.

    MackDaddyMark and Eskimo6804 Thank this.

EXACTLY... ***UPDATE*** Thanks to a break in the weather and a skilled driver with chains, we were able to deliver this load this afternoon, The construction company was helpful today with a front end loader....:biggrin_25514:but the broker still acted very un-professional in every step of the way and has been reported...STAY AWAY FROM JOHN J. JERUE TRUCK BROKERS IN JEROME IDAHO....They are the worst Ive ever heard of !!

Sounds like abandonment to me, if they refused the load.
