Man I think I'll subscribe....I dont know why I thought PTI was in Sikeston, MO. What company am I thinking of that's located there? I mean load planning is everything, many companies are not always the best at doing that, particularly if it's a live load. How many years have you been driving? It sounds like a bizarre orientation. Honestly, if you're the new kid on the block at any company, they're going to give you an older truck. It's the way the cookie crumbles. You're getting frustrated with the other guys here, but they are giving you some truth. I do agree, that you will need to develop some toughness here. Certain things you'll have to figure out on the fly. Sometimes you gotta think for your DM as well as yourself. Most of all, you must develop a sense of anticipation. For instance, when you talked about the the Family Dollar load, you missed that appointment. They shot you the info, you have to be able to make a determination as to whether you can deliver it in on time from jump. If it were me, I would have told the dispatcher immediately, as in right after my dispatch, so they can find someone to take it off of you, or have you drop it somewhere. You can't wait til nut cuttin time(60 miles to delivery) to tell them you can't make it. I actually think that's what did you in with this company. Communication, timely and efficient communication is key in this industry.
