Bad company dorms filthy food terrible care nothing about you

As bad as Covenant was/is, I have fond memories being it was my first company after getting my CDL. Also my first journey to Tennessee. Also my first one time on a Greyhound bus. Lot’s of life lessons in that short timeframe.

 

yeah , it’s all In Your perspective

My dad got called up for the Cuban missile thing .

he worked at western electric , before they became AT&T and was I n communications in the reserve .
His plane would have been one of the first ones in after the airfield was secured .
they spent weeks at a base in Miami , taking turns sitting in the planes on the taxiway for six hours at a time , just waiting for the call that the invasion was green lighted .

he grew up on a hog farm in a swamp
In South Carolina and they didn’t get electricity until 1956
And then when I was a kid he was a forest ranger and we lived in rural Appalachia ,in a house owned by the state that was six miles from The nearest paved road .

and we were the richest people for miles and
Miles around because we had running water and electricity and he got a steady paycheck of $375 a month from the state .

 

That Waffle House is now closed. The one across the interstate was rebuilt.

 

Wow, after this sorrowful tale of woe, I will certainly take your advice and make sure to get the full menu in writing before taking any future jobs.

 

If that meal was free and I was broke id be back for seconds with a empty bread bag to snag the leftovers for the room.

 

The level of entitlement on this thread. I hate when the recruiter lies to get you to the company and you end up in a Bates motel.
