I had a rare broker load [beer load] where the broker did not get the receiving appointment set properly that morning in Renton. So I sat and additional 2.5 hours, which caused me to be a work-in at my pickup 20 miles away and lost an additional hour or so. I should have been in eastern Washington when that crash happened.

Apparently the automobile simply crossed the yellow line and was not in the process of passing in the oncoming lane as I had presumed. It was slick from drizzle. Maybe he was speeding, had too much power applied on the incline and started fish-tailing out of control? Or a suicide? Who knows and we'll probably never know unless maybe the truck had a dash cam.

Highway 18 reopen after deadly crash near Issaquah
    --------------------
Witnesses told troopers a car was headed eastbound on SR 18 and veered across the center line into oncoming traffic and collided with the semi truck.

The State Patrol said the driver of that car, Patrick Saylor of Wheat Ridge, Colo. died at the scene.

The semi driver, Wade Fenley, 40, of Greensburg, Ind., had minor injuries, but was taken to the hospital to be checked out.

    Neither vehicle had any passengers.

SR 18 was closed in both directions at Issaquah-Hobart Road for more than six hours while troopers investigated and the State Department of Transportation cleared the scene.

"There is a lot of debris. There's diesel on the roadway which is extremely slippery, so they're all here and set up in place to get this cleaned up as quickly as possible," said Trooper Rick Johnson.

Both lanes of SR 18 reopend just before 11 p.m.

No word yet on what caused the driver of the car to cross the center lane.
