How bad? Preventables? Service failures? Equipment abandonment? There are companies that take felons, and companies that don't use DAC, the experts will be here shortly.
Where are you at, that will help. -
No offense, but a theft charge is a tricky situation, since you're asking to be entrusted with a lot expensive company and customer assets. Some companies have policies that require felony offenses be at least 5 years old, and that also depends on what their insurance company's policy is on felonies. The best thing to do is to be open and honest about your past with recruiters, or whomever is in charge of hiring. If you try and hide your past, theyll most likely find out and automatically reject you.
G13Tomcat Thanks this. -
There's always Carolina Cargo, and though they don't pay that well, its a foot in the door, and their drivers KNOW they are getting their first and/or final chance at this, and the ones I've seen and met do pretty dang good at what they do. A year with them incident-free may open up greener pastures, just my imho.
@Chinatown ? -
Yes, Carolina Cargo or Western Express would be your best bet OP. Perhaps CR England? Just don't lease!

If you've been charged, but not convicted yet of a Felony, it might suit you better to try to get it reduced to a Misdemeanor or the charges dropped before you enter the World of Trucking.
If you've been convicted already and off Probation, it might be a good idea for your future to get a Expungement or Pardon. -
I agree with the other posts; Carolina Cargo.
They're more strict about the DAC than the criminal history, but you can try. -
The last company I worked for was k&b transport they said I tried to steal there truck cops came and arrested me,plus I've had my chances with companies 9 jobs in 1 year and a half with two preventables (none dot record) do you guys still think it's hope

All you can do is try. Check Craigslist also.

I second the Craigslist idea. Your going to have to find a place and prove yourself. Someone out there will hire you, it may be a crappy local flatbed gig getting 13$ an hour, but someone will. And you might luck out with a better gig, but you got to hunt and put In apps. Possibly expand your search to dumptrucks and everything else that requires a CDL, just get something and hold it down, and be careful to not get anything else on your DAC.
