Bad driving record, Own truck

Its usually dictated by insurance. I have Great West, They will not insure a driver with more than 3 moving violations in the past three years. So I couldn't hire you.

 

If you have your own truck, you NEED to get your OWN Authority. Trust me, I know. If you wait for a company to accept you, you will be waiting a very long time.

It depends on the state you reside in. Allot of states tickets vary depending on the charge, but most tickets your points (if you recieved negative points) will fall off on the 2 year anniversary date of the conviction, but the actual charge falls off after dmv decides. Seven years is the norm. for cdl holders but it COULD be longer.

I don't understand this question.

 

3 years to drop off CSA2010 scores - that's the most important time frame. If it's on any state records that they might see for longer than that it'd be up to prospective carriers whether or not they want to take a chance with you.

Depending on WHAT your violations were will play a huge part. If any of them were for "reckless driving" or an equilivent, I don't know of any carriers that will lease you on, and finding insurance will be near impossiable.

To be honest, if you have more than 3 moving violations, I don't know how you can even afford automobile insurance let alone TRUCK insurance. Expect to pay close to $10k for an experienced driver with violations.....I don't think you will get ANY if you have no OTR experience as a rookie.

 

His chances are far greater to get insurance then it is waiting for a company to hire him, if his record is really bad. I NEVER said he was GUARANTEED to get insurance, but I know from personal experience. So I'm not "WRONG!"

Pricey insurance is allot better than NO income at all.
