I have completed my class room work , the first three days of class the power point was down ,the instructor did a good job of working out of the book instead . Week two the instructor was gone the last day , half of a eight hour class. Now I'm in limbo for my drives because there only two instructors that teach the class an drive. I was never told that it was going to take 6 weeks. I already have all my endorsements. I have been out of class 2 weeks now.The instructors are on Social Security so they only work so many hours an that's all, so in the mean time I`m waiting in line an not making any money, any suggestion's?

After the first year they can work as much as they want and it doesn't affect benefits. Maybe they are just taking it easy.

Being on social security disability does NOT prevent anyone collecting from working. What it will do is allow a small payroll, say 150 a week or so part time and then anything much more than that income will start losing their benefits at a rate of about 2 dollars per one earned or something like that. One way or another at the end of the month they are going to end up with the same amount, either working or disability. But not riding both too much.

Ive worked part time because ADESA (Auction house) by nature is par-time. They only need my skills a few times a month to crew boss a group of CDL temps, some of whom are also on disability from trucking. Mostly some for autos this and some for manual that just enough to get to the barn and parked again.

The reason I do not do it is because of medicines will create a DUI in a car driving myself and the pay per day does not cover the gasoline cost to and from the facility. There is no point. Wages will have to come up quite a bit (We have a 11 dollar hour pending from 8.25 minimum wage in our midterms which if passed will make it break even in 2021)

They do have a once in a life time program where you can make a unlimited amount for 9 months as a experiment to where the disability will be stopped because the new work you are doing is such a profitable and productive member of society at that point. If it does not work out then back to disability you go. (And yes you keep your income minus taxes for that year)

Impacting you as a student, is that the school appears to be short staffed. Either they are conserving money by not paying too many hours in payroll each week or accepting that it will take all students longer in time to finish the prescribed course of teaching.

I think he meant they are retired, not on disability.
