Bankrupt: The American Dream Mall, New Jersey’s behemoth shopping destination

i think that many things changed the way Americans shop

one was the covid crisis, and people staying at home.

another was more online companies offering everything, cheaper, and faster (sometimes overnight) shipping.(Amazon does this)

sales taxes were another plus, many companies did not collect sales taxes, however nearly every state makes the online retailers collect sales taxes at check out time.

i cannot tell you and i am certain you know, that many times when we go shopping, the shelves are bare, of either food, or other products.."supply line issues" is the number 1 reason.

i have yet to have any online retailer tell me the product i want is not in stock.....

so why drive, 5, 10. 30, 45 minutes for bare shelves..???

when a few "clicks" you can get all you want..????

 

I'm more used to images like these for buildings in China.

 

If they're a modern country then maybe they should stop receiving special treatment for being a "developing nation"?

 

Austin community college ended up buying Highland Mall in austin. I remember when that place was just a big field. They have remodeled the whole place and added housing and parking garages. I was glad they didnt tear it down.
