I use an app at times when I'm really trying to dial my macros, and my wife uses it for every meal.

It makes counting calories and nutrients super easy, and shows what your lacking. It'll also pair with your watch or fitness apps to help guide you.

What is the journalistic merit of this article? So some guys made a barcode scanner that uses an algorithm to recommend you healthier food based on ranking. But why? What's the health benefits? How does the algorithm work? Is it really any better than being informed about how to read the back of the box nutrition label? A barcode is nothing but a number that identifies a single product. It doesn't have any product or health information so that stuff needs to be collected and adjusted independently.

This really seems like a nothing article. Basically saying "this thing exists, did you know that?"

Unrelated UPI seems to be a bit controversial being bought up by the Moonies cult in 2000.

Honestly, it's so strange. The writing style of newspapers 25 years ago was so much more professional and artistic than today. You can really see a stark difference and it's sad. For whatever reason, commentary on UPI has been pretty much non-existent for 25 years so all the articles I'm seeing are old and the writing stands out.
