You might want to do search on these companies.

All but Bay and Bay have had many bad comments on them.

I do not recall anything on Bay and Bay as quick as the others.

What have u heard bad about Barr ? and how recent ? Bay and Bay is a small company so i dont really expect a whole lot of chatter about them..know what i mean? I was hoping to hear a little though ... just give me something to justify taking little lower pay and no paid orientation on a leap of faith that they are a "great family owned" company to work for. :biggrin_25512:

RE: Bay and Bay Transport of Rosemount, MN.

I have been with them a little over a year. Yes, they are a small company however, very well run and extremely organized. Excellent equipment.
All tractors have APUs. Very strict PM(Preventive Maintenence) program on all equipment. Majority of trailers are newer and in excellent shape.
Very good customer base. i.e. Anderson's Windows, Ashley Furniture, Cabala's, Seneca Foods, Mills Fleet Farm, etc....
Hometime is great. You elect how long you want to be out. When you request hometime, they get you home on the day that you request. Never had any problems and never missed any appointments.
Before the downturn in the economy was averaging 3500\week. It is now down to 2800\week.
Also, six weeks ago, all drivers took a .02\CPM pay cut, reported to be short term.

I urge you to check them out. An experienced professional driver could make a worse choice.

    Good Luck!!!!

Not to sound like the south end of a north bound mule but Barr Nunn, Transport America, or Heartland? With what you are showing for expirence keep looking! Seriously, you can do better unless your MVR is totally in the hole. Location will have an impact but come on. Ok now I'll get off of my soap box.:biggrin_25520:

I worked for Barr Nunn two years.Decent people, excellent PM program, home time was a little shaky.I left because we couldn't agree on when friday was:biggrin_25510:

Newer trucks have APU's governed at 63mph.Brad was my dispatcher and we always got along well enough.Shop in Charlotte, and Washington Court House were competent but if you wanted the entire truck gone through take it to Granger. You will be there all day but your truck will be 5-6,5-6 at 1800.

They used to run a lot of DHL,with them shutting down domestic operations I'm not sure of miles.Major customers Nestle Waters,Kellogs,Pella windows,P&G,Ball Container.

No, Bay and Bay is not restricted to Owner-Operators only. They have 125 company driver positions with 122 filled at this time.

If as an O/O or a company driver you like to drive and like miles, you should consider Bay and Bay.

On Tues, 10/20/09 I left Rosemount and headed to Menomonie, WI(72 DH) and picked up a pre-loaded trl for a three stop trip. On Thurs, 10/22/09 had 1st stop in Berlin, CT, 2nd in Uxbridge, MA, and 3rd in Pelham, NH. 1373 loaded miles with three stops. Then received a load and went up to Skowhegan, ME(204 DH) and picked up a pre-loaded trl for a two stop trip to Lebanon Jct, KY and Glasgow, KY for a Mon, 10/26/09 delivery. 1250 loaded miles with an extra stop.
What I like about Bay and Bay is the majority of the loads and pre-loaded, majority of the loads are over 900 miles long, and they have such an excellent customer base, there is always freight available. Have pre-pass and EZ PASS. Never have to wait more than one hour after you send in your MT call. And, 50% of the time you have a pre-plan before you are MT.
So far this month(01-25), with five days off, I have 10,278 paid miles. With six more days left in the month I should easily meet my goal of 12,000 miles\month.
This is not a bad company and is VERY driver friendly!!!
    Check them out!!!!:biggrin_25526:
