Week 2 came to a close with Barr Nunn .. My dispatcher had me sit on my 1st day out for 23 hrs, then made up for it by end of the first week ... 2200 miles ...

week 2 he had me sit for 19 hrs and made it up to me by end of the week .... week 2 2444 miles ....

i am northeast regional so I know those miles are great for the northeast ... in 3 weeks I will hit 17 yrs trucking .. may 2nd 1996 seems like a lifetime ago even though it was just 17 yrs .... But so far so good with barr nunn ... I will let you all know what this week does at the end ... I know i wont break 1800 because i had off monday and tuesday due to me working till sunday from last tuesday ... so i wont expect many miles this week ... i am starting out today ( wednesday ) and i will be home saturday cause i am not going to have my weekends during the week ..... i have done that with NFi , i wont be doing that again ....

That mileage is ok if you are making 50 cents a mile.

Good luck trying to find a company that gets you home EVERY weekend, freight still has to be moved!

You won't last long there. Because, you think you're going to leave out on Wed and be home on Sat for your "weekend". That's not how it works in trucking. You should know. Luck to Ya'

well, it was a quick visit with Barr Nunn ... I turned the truck back in at 530pm eastern time at the PA terminal. They wanted to give me 212 mile run tonight, 242 for tomorrow and 250 for friday and then home for the weekend and i said, ill turn the truck in at the terminal, I quit !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was told by their own office person that the first 2 weeks i got for miles were more or less a fluke, that within the next week or two, they would drop my miles to 1500 to 1800 a week and sure enough, 2 days after he said that to me, the miles were gone...

So that was that with barr nunn .... I attempted for 11 days to call their dept head Dirk, and never got a call back, i was 20 miles from the terminal to take the truck back and all of a sudden he now decides to call...

The first week i was there, the DM forgot I was in fishkill NY 3 times and thought i was in allentown while so called trying to find me a load, last friday, he tells me to pick up a load sun at noon, drop it 285 miles away at 1am and to go home after.. he said plan accordingly to make the hrs work so you can get home, only to find out that it was a drop and hook both ends with no apt time when he assured me it was, so instead of going home saturday afternoon , i was home home early monday morning... that was not acceptable either ...

when the DM forgot i was in fishkill NY , i sat for almost 23 1/2 hrs ... then last weekend since he said it was a apt time and he looked and said they wont do anything early, i had to sit for 19 3/4 hrs for NOTHING !!!! yea, i got teh miles, but at what cost ... then i was told like i said they would drop and they did .... enough of barr nunn ... i took pics of the truck when i dropped it off so nothing can come up on my DAC as well as I didnt quit under dispatch so i am safe there ... been doing this too long so i know what to look for ...

    perufh....

cowen systems, home every weekend, NFI, home every night, bolus, home every weekend and night ... there are companies out there ... its just who is hiring and who pays what and what do you have to make to keep your family going ... that is the big question ....

I suppose, but the last carrier I was with (6 yrs) and the present one I am with (5 yrs), I am home every weekend/holiday, by the house a minimum of once a week, and the annual mileage average for all those years is around 130,000 miles. And not on a dedicated run. The last carrier sold out (sigh) but it was all for the best. The one I am with now beats them on just about every count. And they are 164 miles from Barr Nunn headquarters if you decide you want to move on.
