Filing IFTA is a piece of cake since everything is done online
-
Plus, I know what MY route was so I don't get over charged for IFTA.
-
You won't get overcharged. When I do my IFTA system automatically gives me a refund for a state that I overpaid ( miles run vs fuel purchased)JimmyWells Thanks this.
-
Sure I will. The company I'm leased on with doesn't know the routes I take so they guesstimate and pay based on that. However, if I can avoid a higher IFTA state (like PA) I usually do.
-
I hate when they do that. I don't have any estimates , just calculate the mileage at the end of the quater and pay and print the invoice online.JimmyWells Thanks this.

You have to keep records of the route you drive on every load. Just went thru ifta audit, they check your route against mileage claimed and it needs to be close. If you dont keep trip records with routes driven, the fine can be steep. I think you need to keep past 3 years of trips. They audited me for 2014. State dmv does audit.

I know. I'd rather go out of my way and take a longer route to avoid high IFTA states if possible instead of paying them their extortion money. The PA turnpike REALLY gets to me. Why should I pay IFTA AND pay to use the Turnpike?! Not I! I'll bypass the entire state whenever I can pull it off.
