Right on the money. We work on larger fleet of 17-23 IHC LT. IHC won't tell you but the battery cables (mostly ground) are seperating under the shrink tubing that connects eyelets to cable. Have replaced hundreds of them. Take them off and if you wiggle and pull hard enough the eyelets will come off cable. Especially short ground cable to frame rail.

Good 'ol fashion voltage drop tests on the positive and ground cables between the batteries and starter will confirm cables or starter issues. For proper operation, 0.5 volt drop TOTAL on the positive and ground side is allowable.

I had the same issue with APU kicking on constantly etc. I thought it was just the cheapo 650 CCA batteries I had. I noticed a bit of corrosion on one of the posts, didn't think it was enough to make a bad connection, but I went ahead and cleaned it up some with a paper towel. I also tightened up a few of the nuts on the posts. Use a ratchet, you may not be able to tell how tight they are with your hands. Now, my bunk heater will run all night and apu doesn't kick on once. I wiggled a bunch of wires and stuff too. Didn't see anything messed up too much.
