Maybe I should have clarified that I did not mean your CSA score per se but the effect it is having on the industry. The only reason I even brought it up here was an old friend of mine just left your company to join another local/route company like the one I run for and he was shocked at the increase in pay just starting out.
Sooner or later companies are going to have to admit we drivers hold all the aces and they will have to start paying competitive wages instead of beginners wages. The sad thing is many drivers have not begun to realize the power they now hold over not only companies but the industry but they are starting to.

Sounds good but there must a reason for good consistent drivers to walk away .....that's worth looking into take look at companies like CR England their reputation has caught up with them ....without drivers what's left of the trucking company ? ....equipment,dispatcher,machanics,customers,office staff
Lonewarrior Thanks this. -
I am glad that it is working out for him. There are no doubt better pay models at some companies than we offer, better trucks as well, and maybe better operating conditions. Different companies have different market plans and policies. Folks need to do what makes sense for them. I do understand where you are coming from as a driver, but it is different when you are responsible for families of 80 drivers. We have long term relationships with a lot of customers and drivers. We are not trying to out pay Carter. They are so much bigger that us, and have the deeper pockets. You mentioned greed in your most recent message back into my world. I really do not think of us as greedy. Fuel is near $4.00 a gallon, health care is off the chart, trucks cost over $115,000 for a day and $127,000 for a sleeper. I do agree that there is a lot of greed, I am just not sure there is as much in a small company you might think. As much as pay, we try to be a place where you really want to work. I know that you do not think much of us, but we have a lot of drivers who do. We also have a customer base that likes us. I really don't think you have ever walked in an owners shoes before, at what it takes to try to balance costs, pay, benefits, and rates to come up with the perfect world. The perfect world just does not exist. I was scanning through all of the "bad trucking company reports" and it seems as if there are really no good ones. We all work pretty hard here, but we do not live up to all expectations. That does not mean we quit trying. I am proud of the company, the drivers, and the customers. We continue to try to get better, but in a pretty conservative way. We can and will survive and prosper together.

Hi Superflow. I do appreciate your response. For some reason Lonewarrier likes to call me up once in a while and try to express an opinion on a company that he as not associate with for over 2 years. We very well might have had a driver move on to Carter. But I have not had a voluntary quit lately. The only two drivers who have recently left were at the request of my insurance company. I am assuming one of them caught on at Carter. I am happy for him. Both guys were good people. It is not something to be taken lightly but it does happen in our industry. I spite of part of the conversations that have gone on in this tread, I am an "ok" guy, work everyday to try to get the drivers the best that I can. We are far, far from perfect. I have run this company for 14 years and there is no shortage of the mistakes that I have made. It is a live and learn world, hopefully none of us will stop learning. I just think it interesting that there are parties out there think they know more about running my business than I do. I kind of wonder if Lonewarrier is not actually a Carter recruiter and still feel like he knows enough of my drivers to try to pull them over. If so -
For now the cheapo companies have bottom of the barrel drivers to keep them afloat but only for a limited time. They will shuck and jive right to bankruptcy while some companies will get the message and pay top wages to get the best drivers and in turn lead the industry.MrMarcus Thanks this.

Are saying that I am the cheapo company and our drivers are the bottom feeders?
You started this thread on August 21, 2012. At that point you suggested to all of my drivers to jump ship before we sunk. We are still here nearly 2 years later, and in no danger of sinking. What is your real deal? Why do you keep coming back here and talk about us? We seem to be like the old girlfriend that you have never really gotten over. Maybe it is time to accept that we are ok, we are doing ok, and some of the drivers who have been here when you projected our demise actually like working here. Our load board is completely full. Our driver board is completely full. What else do we need to do to be successful? Meeting your standards is not how I measure my success. No we are not Carter, or JB Hunt, or Diamond Logistics or anyone else. We are BD transportation and we are proud of it. I may make mistakes, but I, along with the drivers that have been here over the years, along with our customers have built this business. What business have you ever built? Have you ever even owed a business? Have you even ever owned a truck? You seem to be a good talker, but you have never walked in my shoes, or the shoes of any other business owner. -
Take it as you want...there are worse but the point is the pay and one does not have to be an owner to see many companies screw the drivers. I have however been in management and seen how the game is played. Owners would not have what they do if not for the DRIVERS and now with the new rules and regulations many cheap paying companies will get a nice wake up call to remind them. Companies have built empires on the success of the drivers paying them bottom of the barrel wages. Success to the driver is a nice stack of green backs....

All the highlights have been hit on, and I agree with concensus that BD is a company to avoid. You get fed bullhockey by the bucket, crappy runs and religion pushed on you. I am an atheist and was forced to drive around with a cross on my truck. I have nothing against Christian people but fake ones I have no use for. Just a stepping stone company. Better than stater companies like JB Hunt, Knight, Werner and others but far better paying and respectful out there.

I have long heard about this thread. Mainly from someone who I will not mention that is affiliated with BD that since I left BD has accused me of being a recruiter for another company which I had left BD for and trashing a certain person at BD. Not only that but this person has even contacted my employer with the most outlandish claims that even my old company's HR department contacted me to tell me what was being said in case I wanted to go after liable....
At first I was not going to to even reply to this mess but decided to do so. If said person who made these claims wishes to log on here and have an exchange fine but I do not count on him doing so and after my review of BD Transportation I will even place my name so there is no question to who I am to said person.
I was employed with BD Transportation(Really no one drives for BD they use a staffing agency) just about a year. First coming on through a driver placement company. Had the runs which fit my lifestyle....dedicated..automotive and decent pay. The owners were great folks....even buying out my contract to come on board. I started on a Laredo team run with a fine fellow but due to whatever reason there was a shake up in the company of them trying to be fair to other drivers and that is when everyone always gets screwed but it ended with me on an El Paso team run with another guy. Of course had to lock horns with mgt a few times because they expected me to run more after El Paso and I had even stated from day 1 that would only work 4 days out period. So my co-driver and I ended up on a San Antonio 4 days a week/2 turns and good pay. The office rarely heard from us and we hardly heard from them. The good life. Our San Antonio was really for someone else and when the time came and that company pulled the carpet out from under BD,I jumped ship. Who really wouldn't? I had no ill feelings towards BD or anyone who worked there until a few months later I started getting emails from this unnamed person at BD accusing me of recruiting drivers...trashing the owners and others. Later found out many of these claims came from some ignorant fool I knew at BD that was a drama driver if you know what I mean. Then later my new company comes to me with emails from this person at BD with what I would consider conspiracy crap. Other than that BD did pay well on certain dedicated runs for the most part treated drivers good, then again my policy was to just drive and try to be a ghost as I do anywhere. In short, not bad. Until all the above mentioned happened, I had hoped to perhaps go back if the runs improved. ~Tad Weitz~Last edited: Dec 29, 2014

I want to further add this Rollingweird who later changed his name to Lonewarrior has a personal childish axe to grind with Bd and has betrayed people who were his friends in his quest to act like a spoiled little kid on this group and later on Facebook. Even going as far as to lie when ask about these posts, then later this past holidays, admits while laughing he thought he pulled one over on everyone. Sad a grown man who is supposed to be a professional and ex Navy would act in such a way for so long just because he lost a Laredo dedicated route which he though he had in his words "For as long as I want".
To him I say, Matt nothing lasts forever except good friends and you betrayed more than a few of us with your childish games.
