Wife and I had our DOT physicals today...we are good to go, barely...but some good lessons...don't tell the nurse they didn't do the Blood Pressure right...even though she didn't...and then she shoved the themometer in my mouth and put the pulse thing on my finger while I was trying to relax, needless to say my BP went way up really fast...I told her I had been monitoring it two or three times a day for the last two weeks, eating a very healthy diet, and there was no way my bp was 145...it was 109 this morning and 122 before I went in...it prob wasnt all her fault and I was a little anxious but the entire get you in and get you out routine didn't help...Now the nurse my wife saw was totally different, helped her relax and didn't do the temperature thing and pulse til after...at least I know what to expect now...and next time i will bite my tongue and play nice... Anyway we will prob be starting school around the first of April...

White coat fever? My husband is notorious for his bp going through the roof when he has a physical. LOL He hates doctors and dentists even more. LOL

Seems like I always get a young nurse with a { how can I put this ? } large chest. Makes me start thinking about things, heart rate increases, BP goes up. I would rather get an older one.

I really doubt the nurse did the blood pressure wrong. I have yet to see anyone do that.

I concur with the white coat fever. Many people get stressed when they go in for the physical and then have to wait for them to come and get them.
