There are always some drivers who will have issues no matter what! Beacon tells everyone that a TWIC is mandatory. I have been here 1.5 yrs and have not had negative issues.

    Nimrod and jdhbs45 Thank this.

Here is the truth about Beacon Transport owned by Stan Pritchart; He cut driver pay back mid year of 2008 AND THE PAY IS STILL AT THE SAME RATE. Freight rates have gone up, FSC has gone up, but he still pays his drivers horribly. And they still sit alot.

Beacon hauls a lot of tires, parts for John Deere, and John Deere products (tractors, mowers, atvs) to dealers. The good news is Stan WILL hire just about any driver with ANY background. But that only pulls the entire quality of the fleet of drivers down. ONLY IF I WERE DESPIRATE I'd drive a Beacon truck.

My husband drives for Beacon. When he started there the company was great. They treated him good and the pay was good and he was put into a 2013 Volvo. Well after his probationary period things went from bad to worse. Now dont get me wrong every trucking company has their bad points, but this is the first company he has worked for in his 20 year career that makes the driver pay for tow bills. He was hooking up to his trailer and the drive shaft fell out of the truck, he has to pay the 625.00 tow bill. Then he was hauling a load of rubber and was pulling off the fuel island and his load shifted. Well he now has to pay the 1,000.00 for getting the load reloaded. I am sorry but why should the driver have to pay for tow bills and loader error????? The company that reloaded the trailer even said they have had to do this before for the company that loaded the trailer because they dont know how to load the #### things. This is the first time he has had a load shift and he is not one of those hot rod drivers you see all the time at the truck stop, he does drive careful and has a clean driving record. He is very upset about this, but the company says it is in the manual that the driver has to pay but it was never touched on in orientation. His dispatcher, who was not even involved in this crap even blamed him for the load shift. I am not making excuses for him or being a cry baby, but it seems as if they #### on their good drivers and find ways to rob them of their hard earned pay. These guys are out over the 14 days they say you will be gone and when you ask for home time they seem to find a way to head you the other direction. I am having surgery next month lets see if they get him home for that. This is just another typical company who tells all the right lies so you can go to work for them, then the truth comes out and there you are trying to make a decent living and they are f...ing you around. It is not right. Thanks for letting me vent.

this is for anyone else that wants a answer about beacon. IF YOU QUIT,QUIT AT HOME.. that is what i did.YOU ARE NOT GONNA GET YOUR LAST CHECK OR DEPOSITE,IF YOU HAVE A DOG.....beacone itself is not the problem..IT IS THE DISPATCHER. i had chris.. anyone that has or will have him will know who it is his a arragent /// hole. the best 2 dispachers is/was bill or keith..bill being the best.. Beacon did what it promised..but your dispatcher is who .... u .. YOU WILL GET HOME RIGHT THE FIRST COUPLE MONTHS THEN FORGET IT. the will send you in the opposite direction when it is time to go home.or offer you a good run.after sitting.

    Pay the tow bill.
Never. For that amount of money I would pack my junk rent a car drive home and tell them the keys are in it. Crazy thinking I am going to pay a towing bill for a mechanical break down.
They need to be pulled in for a random Drug test cuz they're smoking some really good stuff

OK well here is the latest update about Beacon. Yes hubby is being made to pay the tow bill for his drive shaft falling out and also the bill to have someone come out when he was backed into the first time. Yes I said the first time. It just so happened someone did it to him again last night at a truck stop. This time he was not in the truck he was inside the truck stop. Needless to say the truck left the scene and believe it or not NOBODY seen anything. HUH imagine that. Anyway there was another Beacon driver there who helped hubby straighten the bumper out so he could drive it. Hubby got his name and phone number and gave it to Larry in safety. Larry called this guy and surprise, the driver said he never seen hubby's truck and knows nothing about it. Now someone is lying. Big time. So needless to say Larry fired hubby and left him stranded at the yard in Tennessee and he is currently waiting on his brother to come pick him up. No second chances, nothing. We live in Illinois, this is BS. Also he was told he will not get any of his checks he is owed because he owes for tow bill, repairs and Oh to have his load reloaded because it shifted on him. I am not sure how much of this crap is legal, but he has never worked for a company in all his trucking career that treated him this bad. NEVER!!!!! Why would a driver have to pay when he is backed into????? Maybe he should have told Larry he put a big target on his truck and told other trucks to hit him. What an A hole. Frankly I could care less if the company reads this, they are messing with peoples lives. You drivers do this to make a living and take care of families. It is not a glamorous job and is da.. hard work. These companies should be thankful you drivers are willing to do this dangerous job and start treating you like humans instead of a means to an end or to pad their wallets. Like I said I am not crying over spilt milk, my husband is a good driver and has been for over 20 years, I think it is time he got the respect he deserves. If you want respect, do not go to Beacon. Your probation period is nice but look out after that. If you drive for Beacon and like it, well that is good. Hope it stays that way for you. Oh and to the one who said Bill is the best dispatcher, he was hubbies dispatcher and always tried to make him work over his limit. Hubby would have to remind him that he did not have enough hours. But hey they want you to run legal. Yeah right!!!!!! Sorry drivers, I know I am just a wife, but hey when we have to listen to the crap our husbands go through , it is very hard to keep your mouth shut. Everyone please be safe out there. Thanks for letting me vent. :biggrin_25516:
