If it is okay to cross, why do they ask if you have any?

I asked about it several years ago and they informed me it would be confiscated.

I have no clue why, maybe they were looking for personal protection pepper spray. They are big on the pepper spray thing on that side of the river, so I would guess it is that. I ordered a couple cans and will see when I cross next time what they say.

I've been asked about meat this month out of the blue, like I'm going to have meat with me in a day cab. They told me they would take it if I had it.

Never had problems with the food going to Canada, but Portal, ND wanted my meat and apple one time when I came back. Opened the meat, took a bite and bit in the apple and gave to them. Said, now nobody gets to eat it.

Although i agree with this reply both in theory and in practice, it is flirting with disaster.
When traveling through a "gun crime state" where crimes committed with a gun carry mandatory prison terms, having one in your truck is no exception.
It is against the law to have a firearm in your truck. Therefore if caught, you will be charged with committing a crime with a gun. And you WILL do time.
Trick is to not get caught with it.

:O_o_1PIRATES8:That is a clever idea. And I happen to have an old holster without a gun.. Never thought of that. would be afraid of the DOT bears wanting to have a looksee if they saw it and they would find my girlfriend. Wouldnt have time to deflate her before they came in.. Might be embarrassing.:biggrin_25522:
