I been military 13 yrs never heard its illegal if it was so illegal then why they let people carry personnel weapons to ranges allow civilians to hunt even sell and allow weapons in housing. The gun I carry was actually purchased on ft hood. Have you been military lived life on post or always beencivilian and actually I go on post almost every week in my truck and pov with my gun a privilege I get for being retired and getting 3% of the military's loads.
Bear Spray? What do you use for safety?

Let me revise this it is illegal to carry aconcealed weapon on post and into federal buildings it is not illegal to carry on post or in parking lots if in a gun case no ammo in it. Just called provost marshals office on ft hood so just dont carry it concealed or on you leave in your sleeper and you shouldn't have no worries

Air Force policy on personal weapons at the time I was in was you could own one, but it was required to be stored by the security police. You could check it out for specific purposes and times, but it had to be returned. You couldn't just carry one around because you felt threatened- that included the barracks and base housing. Civilians had to declare weapons at the time they entered the base, and were required to surrender them to the security police for the duration of their stay. If they searched you and your vehicle, found a weapon you hadn't declared- then you could be arrested for bringing it on a federal reservation. That may have had something to do with the nature of their activities... most places I was stationed had nuclear weapons stored on them. I delivered to an AFB not long ago, and that was still the case.Last edited: Aug 1, 2013
