Becoming a trucker at 59 years of age?

Plan on working 14 hour days and occasional 16 hour days.

 

Slight chance of being single in the future, applies to everyone. Lol I’ve been with my wife, 38 yrs now. I don’t know your situation, and don’t want to know, honestly. But if one of you already has one foot out the door, Trucking will probably end the marriage. Sometimes just the opposite, you never know. My experience is people make a decision, then create the problem/ solution. It’s a choice, really. We’ve both had justifiable reasons to part ways over the years. Chose not to, now it means a lot, knowing someone so well and so long. All the other things come and go. Depends on what you want.

 

Yeah, single life is ok. I've tried it a few times.

 

Lol, between both my parents, total was 8 marriages, never a dull moment. At least they lived to the fullest. Its a wonder I got married at all, after witnessing their escapades.

 

Remember that you want to work in one of the most dangerous industries in the country.

Not at all. I've met a guy before, in Pennsylvania, in his first year at age 70. He drove for Stevens Transport.
