Am i to understand that a brokage company makes apx. $200.00 per load dispached. Why then don't more people open brokage companies? Why run yourself silly for 3 days to make what a broker makes in 1/2 day?

I'm sure brokers are up against the same competitive pressures as truck owners. Namely everyone and their brother thinks it's easy street to riches. You end up with a bunch of uneducated people becoming brokers driving rates down no different than the truck glut. Reality is different from fantasy.

200 a load? HA. That may be what they try to get. My uncle owns a brokerage. It's nowhere near that. Sometimes yes but most of the time it's between 10-12%. And they pay teh carrier in 30 days and it takes him 90 -120 days to get paid.

I was thinking more of a small brokage company. Say 5 customers that i service 4-6 loads per week to help them reduce cost per load which adds up per year. If i get on average 4 loads per week, i am making apx 800 to 1,000 per week. Apx 50,000 per year with much lower expenses then an op. Am i crazy?

Why would i be crazy? Please explain. And to Crazy D please explain more. If your uncle is making 10-12% per load and the load pays say $3000 then your uncle just made $300 dollars. Is that not good? What part of the big picture am i not getting?

Take into the affect of the overhead plus waiting on the money blah blah blah. Drivers calling in with every excuse in the book why the stuff waqsn't where it was supposed to be when it was supposed to be. Those all add up to deductions.

One thing I learned a long time ago is there are no high paying easy jobs. I used to be a programmer sitting in my home making thousands of dollars and that sounds like a dream job but it had a lot of negatives too.
