I have been reading that most trucks come with a twin XL (college dorm size) mattress. I am wondering if that is true for the little economy size truck cabs that Prime uses. Don't want to buy the wrong size! So for anyone who drives one, please let me know. Thanks!

It's like half the normal size sleeper mattress... And hope you don't get an unreliable piece of garbage like I'm driving...

What model truck do you have? Do you know the dimensions on the mattress? Sorry you are unhappy with your truck.

The regular twin fitted sheets used to fit the narrower extra-longs, but I'd wait before getting too many of them to measure.

All brands seem to have their lemons, although I have read that Prime has sorted out which are better and which are worse, good luck Musicmaker60.

No it's not. It's a normal size sleeper mattress. Prime has two stock mattresses...

Twin XL for the main bunk and the thin condo top bunk mattress.

every truck that gets turned in gets a brand new one before it goes back into the fleet. If it doesn't have the plastic, then detail shop will get you another new one.

same goes for the top bunk before you get a new student or trainee. Turn in the one used by the last student, and you get a new one.

Spyder, it's getting old. Half the stuff you are bitter about you could have found out with a little use of the search button. The rest is unfortunate. No need to pass along bad info about something so small of a concern as a mattress. It just discounts some of the other stuff you'd rather have us all take you seriously.

Standard twin-sized sheets work fine on the matresses. For the OP... you'll be hot bunking with your trainer during the latter portions of TnT, so a sleeping bag is more practical until you get your own truck.

I'm bringing a sleeping bag for training. I am just asking about the mattress size in the economy truck cab I will be issued because there is a sheet sale on right now! I also have a foam mattress topper in the online cart and it needs to be the right length, too. If I can't get any solid info I'll just have to wait. Sales come along all the time.

So standard twin is 39x75 and XL is 39x80. I'm not convinced a 75" will stretch to 80" but I sure don't want 5 extra inches floating around - plus the XL cost more.

I'd wait until you get a truck for that.

39x80 Twin XL, sometimes called dorm mattress because its usually the stock college dorm matress.

Usual stores sometimes have no selection of Twin XL till their back to school sales. However the specialty places like Bed Bath and Beyond have the size in better selection, and quality.

Yeah, im not too sure about using a standard twin sheet. you might get it over the top corners, but probably not under the bottom corner. its a stretch with that extra (XL) 5 inches of mattress to cover. If you are gonna use a mattress topper, stick to the XL.

sheets will work fine on the top bunk mattress. Just won't be a good fit. they are much much thinner than the bottom bunk
