there is a 21 day minimum for students but most instructors will go 4 weeks or longer depending on the student and their progress. We don't let you out on your own until your ready.

Hey Hargis I know you are a trainer so maybe you can help me. I'm suppose to heading to Little Rock tomorrow. My recruiter told me to back for 3-5 days. I was trying to see how big of bag I can bring on the truck? I can't fit what I need into a small bag. Will I be able to keep my bag up on my bed when we travel and such. I'm trying to bring enough stuff to sustain myself through the week and do laundry on the weekends. I know in the videos I've watched I've seen guys with these small bags and I don't know how they get all there stuff into them. Just trying to see what trainee's usually bring on the truck with them. Thanks!

Yes that is fine as long as you don't everything you own with you we can usually accommodate for your stuff.

I live in Cleveland, Tn, not too far from you. How often does Maverick get you home?
-
I am home probably 95% of the weekends
-
Ok, cool. They told me every 2-3 weeks I'm just trying to get an idea. Thanks for your time.

Thank you hargis. I appreciate all the info I am getting from you and your fellow drivers.

I've been driving with Maverick for 4 months now, came from a totally unrelated industry. The DONT lie, I can honestly tell you all, that everything they told me (from recruiting onwards) has been true. If you want a completely accurate picture of working there, check out the thread titled Heading for Little Rock in the Maverick area. More than one Maverick has come onboard because of it....
Is the company perfect, NO, but they are honest.Bass Ackwards Bo Thanks this. -
Glad to hear your happy with them. I am talking with them as well and glad to hear someone else say that they are straight up. How long was your orientation and driver training program? What is there there average run time after training and days home? -
Hey, I spoke with a recuriter at Maverick today and I have been impressed with what you all have had to say about Maverick. I would be working out of the Dallas area and he did say I needed to pick between Flatbed, Reefer, or Glass. I am a recent grad and would like some info on the pros and cons of each. I was interested in flatbed, but curious about the glass transporting. Thanks.
