Safety/Logs Department doesn't always know best.
Sometimes I think they make up rules.

If you take the reset now will you be able take another one before you leave home? (168 hours)
If no I wouldn't take it unless you know you're going to need it.
That way you have a fresh 70 once you leave out.

    Gunner75 Thanks this.

just because she has been doing the same thing for 20 years, does not mean she has been doing it correctly for those 20 years... bad assumption...

DOT regs state, sleeper berth time is the ACTUAL time spent in a DOT approved sleeper berth.... you are in a motel room... falsified log.
    Off duty time is:

time spent away from the truck.... when the truck went into the shop, the shop becomes responsible for the truck...

Sorry for trying to be helpful. What was the point of asking here if you're just going to disregard the replies given to your question though?

And your saying truckers know the rules better? Then care to explain all those csa points for falsified logs? I said if it's an issue when I speak with her tomorrow I'll get it fixed. And yes I'm pretty sure since she's responsible for the log compliance for over 2000 drivers and goes through an audit every year, I'm fairly certain she knows what's up.

Logs arent legal documents until you sign/approve them. You can log line 2 24/7/365 and go back later to edit it.

If you're off for 34 hrs wouldn't that be considered a reset no matter what? When you get home gunner don't be surprised if your company won't grant you a reset. Also with respect why did ask on th forum if you're disrespecting many of the replies here. That's defeating the purpose.

So the log lady knows best and truckers don't know anything then why did you even bother asking about the reset ?????

You don't have to accept it, but previous week I was running on a reset that started Monday morning and it was screwing with me if I had to leave on Sunday is not get my reset in.

I'm only disrespecting those that decided to change the subject on what the wisest course would be either take my reset or run recap this week, not on whether or not I've falsified my logs
