So I got one full year of experience under my belt driving for the Sygma Network. Ive driven 10 speed Volvos, Freightliners and Internationals. I have experience now driving in NYC and Boston. Just wondering how marketable that makes me if I wanted to move on to something else.
Ive been thinking about applying with Conway, a little less money but much less touching of the freight.
Been driving for a year now

Some co want 6 months exp. The better gigs usually want 2 years OTR recent within 6 months.
-
Most companies want 1 year OTR, some 6 months and others 2 or more years. I believe Conway is 6 months but not 100% on that. Just check out different places and most will have that info on their website.
-
So when you guys say OTR experience, do you mean like cross country?? I drive throughout the NE area, plus in major cities like NYC and Boston.
-
I think most companies consider otr experience running at least several states and not home everyday like a local company driver running 1 or 2 states all the time.
-
Sygma Network is that a local gig?
Or do they do otr?
-
I drive for Sygma in Harrisburg, Pa. I'm home 4 nights a week and have delivered to MA, CT, NY, OH, PA, NJ, MD, DE, DC & VA. Gotta agree with ya Kilroy, a little less touching the freight would be nice...

You're going to be handling freight with Conway as well. Unless you go the OTR route.
As a newb in the mix of LTL drivers. you will work the docks. Talk to some of the Conway LTL drivers in the forum.
We have a route in my area that comes open about every 6 months. That 4 hours on the dock at the turn around, is what gets most of the drivers. -
How much driving experience do they want for a driver?Ill be moving up that soon.
