Google Maps has you at 3,111 miles for the week.

    3,111 X .26 cpm = $808.86 Gross

    $808.86 - 18% taxes ($145.59 conservatively claiming 2 dependants) = $663.27 Net

    $663.27 - $30 per day meals (X5 days =$150) = $513.27 Actual Net

    14 hours per day X 5 days = 70 hours work

    $513.27 / (devided by) 70 hours = $7.33 per hour

Yep.....that's right people.....numbers don't lie.....jr379 made minimum wage......worked his ### off for it......and is daymn happy about it!
Good for you jr379......good for you!!!

That is good for star transport.

And if the driver is happy, good !!

With 17 years, you should be making good money.

    Enjoy it !!!

Probaly more hours than that considering long waits at shippers/receivers. Don't
like it? Go flip burgers for minimum wage. Also Star starts you out at? 28. Im now
    at .30.

I work for Star Transport, in the office, have for quite some time. I've been reading some threads posted and some are insightful, some are humorous, and some are disappointing. While i know everything is not perfect at Star i would love the oppurtunity to discuss or dissolve some of the assumed topics in hopes to help clarify if anyone is interested. I mostly got on here because i think it is important for those of us in the office to obtain a better understanding of not only our own drivers but drivers abroad as far as their needs and concerns so that i may be able to do my own job better. I value the opinions of all TRUE truck drivers. I think we all know there are truck drivers and people that just drive trucks. Ever since i have started in the buisness i have gained most of my useful knowledge by relying on truck drivers with experience to help influence my work decisions along with company needs. In the end we are all after the same thing, pay the bills and enjoy our own quality of life whatever that may be. Myself is my family like so many others.

I gave Star Transport a shot and I didn't care for the results. Most of the trucks are 387's with cats and 13 speeds. love the trucks. I was even on two dedicated runs. The first one ended because of the economy and the second one ended because I quit. When I finally quit I was bringing home $ 415 a week and I was out for 5 days.
