Leasing and driving a truck is not for everybody. In my opinion, unless you have prior business skills operating or owning a company, one should not lease for a year. You wear a lot of hats and sometimes it requires wear multiple hats at the same time.

Gaming your fuel for a few bucks in the next settlement is shortsighted. Fuel is like any other commodity: it has value. The only way to work it is the long game. Buy as much of the cheapest fuel you can find in-route, whenever that is.

If your personal finances are so screwed-up you have to play games with your business finances to make ends meet you're in over your head.

 

You buy your squirt of $5/gal fuel in SoCal to make it back to Arizona, and I'll run back to AZ using the $4/gal fuel I bought on my way in to Cali. Sure my check will be a little smaller this week, but your check will be a lot smaller next week.

 

Lease purchase is a scam, and the trucking companies that started this crap should be made to pay the price.

Um, yeah? Isn't the whole point of being an O/O is that the trucking company provides you with freight to haul, and you take care of everything else?

exactly.....typical hear at TTR.....the whole "watch out for the bad man, be afraid of the bad man" routine. Comical...but somehow sad......and pathetic. A real smorgasbord of emotions
