Sitting here in Pecos, TX with a free 14mm bolt in my drive tire if anyone needs one. Head might be rounded a bit, but should work in a pinch.

Accepting over/under bets for 10 breakdowns before February. Let me know if interested

It stopped leaking. It wasn’t beaded or inflated, but it passed the soap water test :D

It got patched up. In and out of the Love’s in Pecos in an hour, so really didn’t hurt anything. I trust the patch to last longer than the recap tire it got put on

Have been sitting empty in Phoenix for 27 hours now ‘waiting for a load’. I reckon sitting for 27 hours make more sense than deadheading 3 hours to one of two terminals that have freight when working here.

Good first few weeks here, has been Western Express tier for the last month. I’m confused why breakdown pays 250/day but layover pays 125. Either way, I am not moving at no fault of my own, but when it’s the hourly/salary dispatcher’s error, I get paid less?

If anyone has any reefer company recommendations, I’m open to suggestions. Not driving for bottom feeders for 700/wk.

No point crying and complaining on this forum anymore and helping bottom feeders meet their bottom line, so seems like a good time to chalk it up as a mistake to work here and move on.

Don’t give up too quickly. Freight is wonky right now. And frankly, speaking only for myself, switching to refer isn’t an option. I’d rather perform a DIY root canal sans anesthesia than deal with most grocery warehouses.
Good luck in whatever you decide to do.

I hope so. If two weeks in a row that aren’t a disaster finally happens, I’ll have a little faith, but so far it’s been lucky to get 3 days in a row that go smoothly. I know trucking isn’t always sunshine and rainbows, but I didn’t take a cpm pay cut for the miles just to average less than most regional drivers, so we’ll see if it ever picks up.

I enjoy reefer as long as they have some drop and hooks and a good detention policy. Between the longer runs and detention pay, I did pretty well. Company I did reefer for had a decent amount of Sysco or US Foods runs that would be 4-5 stops for 1800 miles. 50 dollar stop pay to unload 1-2 pallets and then back on the road in 45 minutes was a pretty nice payday

You’re obviously a LOT younger than me!:) I’m close to retirement and already crotchety. I also didn’t realize you had previously done reefer. It can be frustrating no matter the sector.

That place is dog crap & has been for years. It's a true wonder how they stay afloat.
