Picked up a load of paper rolls that drop in El Paso, TX to go across the border. Get 250 miles or so down the road to Sweetwater, TX and stop for the night. Dispatcher let me know they loaded the wrong product this morning

The miles to go back to shipper are paid, so I guess it’s no big deal for me. Feel like I’m in the Twilight Zone though

Finally had a handful of days go smoothly. Not breaking any land speed records, but if I can start consistently knocking off 3450 miles in 6 days, I’ll be a happy camper. Time for a 34 here in Wytheville, VA

Why are you showing so much time on duty? Is it company policy?

Yesterday’s was me just leaving it in on duty at Blue Beacon on accident. Didn’t bother to edit since I was taking a 34 with 4 hours to spare on my 70 tonight anyways.

Other days were pre-trip, post trip, fuel, and 15-30 minutes for drop and hooks/loading/unloading. Would be kinda suspicious if every stint of on duty time was exactly 15 minutes.

Got it. I too usually edit my logs. But if I’ve run hard for the week, and I know I’ll need a reset, then I don’t edit anything. In fact, if it’s borderline where I think the company might put a non productive load on my back, I make sure I burn up time.

I know I could probably log a lot of the stuff I mentioned for shorter times or off duty and get away with it, but current dispatcher doesn’t usually get me below 3-4 hours on my 70, so I just make sure I don’t give DOT anything to interpret wrong

By my rough math, logging just driving and 15 minute pretrips he would have only had 12 hours for 2 days. On an aobr I'd have tried to get to recaps, but on an eld I think it makes more sense to reset.

Pretty much any reputable OTR company. I’ve done decent in my couple months here, but I earned more at the previous two carriers (Schuster and GP Transco)

Pros and cons to other companies compared to DHT though, so guess it depends on your priorities in your job offering

I wouldn’t say those were better or worse jobs. Just different benefits and negatives
