Got the new bumper on today and cleaned it all up. I'm really impressed with it.

I had the scariest day ever yesterday. I was on 191 in Wyoming near Jackson, taking it slow and steady because the roads were really bad. I was just hoping for the best so I could get to 26. The tires broke free and I let off and kept it straight to regain traction. It didn't happen; I slid off the road and was stuck in a snow drift. The only thing damaged was the bank account for a wrecker to pull me out. I don't think I have been on roads that bad yet.

Also, I learned Auto Socks suck. I used them to get over the pass to Dubois and they ripped to shreds. I'll be going back to chains.

Wow, that's surprising about the Autosocks. I got a set but haven't used them yet. I have heard that they will tear up if you exceed 25mph or so, especially on the bare road surface (sans snow/ice).

Thankfully it was only your wallet that was damaged in the slide.....

I was really excited to try them. I kept it at 25 or below and made sure they were adjusted properly. I was in slick snow pack. The roads were pretty bad.

Well that's so disappointing to hear. I got both chains and socks. I guess I'll just save the socks for the truckstop/ parking lot type places that where you just need a little help.

Try them and see. I'm pretty sure I did everything right but I run super singles; if you have duals maybe the result will be different.

    thaistick Thanks this.

it sounds like you did. I've heard people say they will shred it you drive on them fast and/or on the road surface. I wouldn't think duals vs ss would matter but maybe, who knows.

My buddy cj had socks and at first loved them till they shredded. Last i spoke to him about it he was going back to chains. From what i gather they just don't hold up to repeated use.

Got my IFTA running my first full quarter with these guys. On 38,894 miles I got 7.63MPG. That is close to what I was seeing. My truck and their computer has been showing 8.1 or so and it reports about 5-6% higher than what I am actually getting. Overall the truck is 8.3 since I've had it or 7.8-7.9 actual. I would love to see 8 on my IFTA; maybe during the warmer months.

I was disappointed with December. Not their fault but weather kept delaying me. Winter has been Hell on the truck costing me money. I'm on my way in for time off and Peterbilt will have the truck and I'm hoping I won't have any issues after this for a little while. I spent a good chunk of change on repairs this winter. I am excited about this oil change I'm doing though; I'm switching from 15-40 CJ4 oil to 10-30 CK4 oil. CK4 is the new oil category and from everything I've read, I'm expecting 40k or greater OCIs out of it. I'm currently running 35-37k on my current oil, backed by oil analysis. Cummins recommends on this motor 25k but I have been doing much more than that, safely.
