I know the anwser is yes...but.

Do they pull you over just for ...well I gues for the heck of it, right.

They don't have to have any means to justified there action.

So how many times in a week do you get pulled over?

Around my town I see state police that have the power to go far out beyond the city limits.. but they don't. They stay inside or by the city outskirts of town. they are always pulling over truckers. Thats all they do all day long. That and give selt belt tickets.

That was the only time so far, and I have been out there for about 51/2 months now. Now when you go into states like Pennsylvania where their 'weigh stations' are at rest areas you are more likely to have an inspection but in those cases I have been asked for my logs once 'so far', also, listen to your cb cause you will hear that from time to time the DOT DUMMIES are hanging out at rest areas waiting for 'victims':biggrin_2554:

Something you may never think of, but this did happen to my hubby. He was driving at night turned his interior light on to find something on the dash, turned the light off just as he saw the lights from the statey come on - the cop was finishing up the seatbelt ticket as he walked up to the truck! My hubby, being the funny man he is, asked the statey how he saw that at night - the cop informed him that next time he looks for something on the dash and turns on his interior light - "Put your seatbelt on first son!" At the time of paying that ticket -- I was not laughing!!:biggrin_25513:

Never been pulled over for anything I didn't do.

Got a seatbelt ticket once..worn it ever since..with the slack adjuster pulled.

Had a few cops let me slide on things, once I was on a road I shouldn't of been on, weight limit, saw the cop standing there talking to someone. Had to drive right past him, he looked at the road, looked at me, waved me through.

Your town obviously has lazy cops. I bet it takes them 1/2 an hour to respond to a 911 call too.

Actually, I think getting pulled over "for the heck of it" is pretty rare for truckers. Unless you're begging for it (having a "Hillary 2008" sticker or something, haha).

I've been pulled over for speeding only once (in The Kommunist Republik of Kalifornia) - and I was speeding. I've been cited for obstruction of traffic (on the wrong road, stuck at a low bridge in Chicago), which I was guilty of. Otherwise, it's all DOT inspections in chicken coops (weigh stations) and where you'd expect to be stopped.

Knock on simulated wood dash paneling...

would not say rare and I would say becoming more common. I was pulled over in MN for doing absouluty nothing but driving down the road. I was pulled over and was simply told I was going to get a DOT inspection. You probably can thank the resent NAFTA Mexican truck bill for the increases DOT inspections. Federal government has funded DOT to be increased and more inspections to be done in all states. No this will not all be directed toward Mexican trucks but us a s well

I was pulled over once because I slowed down to 25-30mph on I-40 just outside of Santa Rosa, NM to work my way threw the mess that 2 Super Single trailer tires left when they blew. The trooper saw me going slow and 'weaving'. It was about 2am no other traffic on the road going in either direction. Right after I got out of the mess the officer came flying across the center divider and pulled me over. I actually stopped about a hundred yards in front of the truck waiting for 2 new tires. The officer screamed that I shouldn't be out here if I'm falling asleep. Convinced him I wasn't tired. Told him about the tires he didn't believe me and gave me the tests to see if I was drunk. passed that, then passed the breathalyser test. finally he bought my story and then proceeded to tell me about how there is no reason for me to try and miss the rubber as I have the ground clearance. Tried to explain to him how it could get mess up my duels / airlines exct. Told me that the worst thing was that my load could shift, I will roll over and 'a bunch of people could end up dead' (remember I was the only one out there at 25mph). When I tried to tell him that this was not possible he told me if I was going to continue to 'act like I know more then him' he was going to write me a ticket for wreakless driving and tow my truck. He went on telling me about how us 'stupid' drivers need to learn to respect the law. At this point I told him to get his supervisor to pull me over if he still wanted to talk and went back to my truck and drove off. He followed me to the county line then turned around and when off, probably to mess with another driver.

Us "stupid" drivers will start respecting the law when they do something to earn that respect and stop acting like the center of the universe.:biggrin_25523:

This guy is no doubt hanging out with the other LEO's in the cop bar, whining about how no one has any respect for the law these days. :biggrin_25523:
