20190522_135021.jpg Installed a brand new air dryer on my truck 4 days ago. The old one was purging constantly and would not build pressure in the tanks. Last night the new started doing the exact same thing. I pushed a socket extention up into the purge valve and it popped back closed. Today it has done the same thing several times. So I pulled the nipple off the purge valve and found a broken, flat, rubber seal/gasket hanging out of it. So I pulled it out. See picture. The dryer is still functioning, still purging when it should etc... My question is what the hell is this gasket and am I going to have problems down the road?

I know on the repair kit it usually o rings on the valve body. It is strange for the new one to do the same thing unless the gasket was in the line & causing it not to seat. I would just watch it as it goes. I keep a flare fitting & repair kit for that reason if the dryer goes bad.
