Hi everyone,
i'm looking to get into the trucking industry probably this summer. I'm thinking about going to roadmasters for my CDL training. What I would like to know is if anyone out there knows of a company that lets you put domestic partners on your insurance.
thanks a bunch!!!!!😊

Most have a rider policy, but they are usually limited to immediate family greater then a certain age, and many will NOT allow "girl-friends or boy-friends" , however some will allow a long-term partner (they have a name for it in Texas but I forget) if you can show you're living together like a married couple for an extended time.

Gordon Trucking allows domestic partner benefits. They have decent benefits as well. Good for someone just starting.

What is a domestic partner? You mean a husband or wife?

Most companies that are based in a state that recognizes domestic partners will allow it because they have to. I think Gordon was mentioned. There are a few others from that area too. Best to just call a few companies directly and ask them.

Mhart1472, there are tons of companies that will allow riders that are not immediate family (though most, if not all, have age restrictions that shouldn't concern your particular situation, since the passenger would be over 18 I hope)---just have to make some phone calls. Regardless though...even an experienced driver is required to wait 90 days (at most places) before they are allowed any riders. And a LOT of companies have set winter months where a rider is not allowed at all.
This is an Insurance call...and we all know, in the trucking industry, the Insurance companies pretty much call the shots.Mhart1472 Thanks this. -
if you use someone of the opposite gender, it is fraud, because opposite genders are supposed to get married (thats me being old fashioned, i guess)
i actually know someone who was fired for putting their "common law" husband on their insurance, it was considered fraud
unless they have changed the laws or it was on a state by state basisMhart1472 Thanks this. -
