Benefits for New Drivers Working For Prime???

    Hello:

    I am a newbie to the trucking world, and I would like to know what are the benefits of working for a company like Prime? I know that they are geared towards lease operators and independant contractors, but being new to the business, I was offered conditional employment by them. Do you think it is a good starter company? Especially if you love to work? Any info. will be appreciated. Thanks again.

    John.....Most of the guys on this section of the board don't think much of Lease OP's....Although most of them have never worked for Prime, they are in competition for loads with every company out there that hauls the same kind of freight they do. Prime has approx 4000 trucks on the road. This impacts O/O's to varying degrees depending where they run and what they haul.Some will say that you can't make money leasing a truck....well they can't ALL be losing money or constantly be getting screwed by Prime and keep that many people on the road all the time.
