As long as you aren't driving or supervising loading or unloading, you can do whatever you want. Just be careful you don't use up yer sleep time fiddling around online

Depends whos time your on !! If your on your own time, you can use all of it up!!
If your on someone elses time, then its however long you have left after you get your work done, untill it starts again..

Well, There never seems to be "enough" time anyway.
When I leave home, I want to get back ASAP....3-4 day trip I try not to fiddle around too much,My 'time' I like to spend at home with family etc.
I don't do Much of anything But Drive,Unload,Reload,Sleep and relax at the Truckstop having a cup of coffee BSing with the boys.....

IHonestly...Unless your working some crazy irregular route schedule staying out for week(s) at a time, You don't have much time for much..Even with a 10 hour break

Seen them 10 times...met everyone From the original line-up to the most current last year in 2014

Very Proud Rock-Blues Band whom are NOT welcome back to perform in their native Land, lol TRUE.They became extremely successful here in the states, but nowhere else. probably one of the hardest working Rock n Roll acts Ive ever seen Live. Great Shows

Talked to Roger last year for a moment and he had nothing But Kind words after the Passing of Jesse Winchester- Whom was also a Great performer and had signed with Bearsville Records at the same time in the mid 70's.

you got 10 hrs off each day Doesn't matter if you spend that time sleeping or in the truck stop. Sometimes you will be starting your 10 hr break while sitting in a dock getting loaded or unloaded and then expected to start driving at midnite for example. Most drivers spend a couple hours reading, watching tv, eating, etc, and then hit the bunk for 8 hours or so.

I can't speak for everybody, but when I was on the road (I'm in a daycab now) I didn't have extra time to do anything recreational whatsoever. I was always running a sleep deficit, so any "down time" had to be spent catching a nap. I never even brought a TV with me, because I wouldn't have been able to watch it. Of course things are a bit different now with the prevalence of electronic logs, (I was often bending the rules in order to make decent money). Some drivers have video game systems, satellite TV, and all kinds of other stuff for entertainment.

However, my advice would be to take a walk as often as you can whenever there is any downtime waiting to get loaded or unloaded. I was at a Walmart DC yesterday waiting to check in and there was nothing but a steady stream of overweight drivers. And not just slightly overweight. Most of those guys were probably over 100 pounds overweight. You gotta get some activity and avoid fast food and buffets or that is inevitable. That is the reason you see such a disparity between OTR drivers and LTL/local drivers: activity and nutrition.

Depends on what type of log you run. I run a paper log so I don't give my self 10 hours off, I run my self really hard so I can make the most money possible. I will drive as long as I can without endangering anyone on the road or myself. That means most times I get only 6 or 7 hours off. That's not much time to do any thing but eat, shower and sleep. I find a short amount of time to surf the interweb befor I goto bed but that's it. Time is money in this industry and like they say "if the wheels ain't turning you ain't eurning"
