Hello all.
I have been driving since 2000, laid off the last 2 years, and finally returning to the trucking industry.
I was hired last wedensday by Best 1 trucking her in Fontana Cali.
I was told they were only hiring teams, but they had a female co-driver I would be lined up with.
2 days of waiting for them to set me up in a truck, I get a call saying that the proposed co-driver already has a partner. I am then told they only have 2 females working for the entir company out of 200+ employees.
I decided to take a chance and tell them I would take on a male co-driver.
(guess that can be quite a scarey thought for some of them men out there lol...visions of 400lb females caught in their heads, but I am not...I am always told I look nothing like a trucker, even from other drivers)
So anyways, here it is, amlost 2 weeks later, and I am still waiting for that phonecall for a co-driver.
Now from what I have seen of this company, they have a bit older trucks, they are a small outfit that does dedicated from LA to Jersey.
I was wondering if any of you other drivers have heard anything good or bad about this company....
I am getting quite impatient waiting for a truck to open up, and frustrated as well...my opinion of this company is dropping steadily.
would appreciate any info.
Thx

I never heard of them. Do you bug them if they don't call you ? Or, go down to their yard and hang around ? Maybe bring donuts and coffee. Make sure You are fresh in their minds.

hi my name is ty and i started working for best one in sept 2010 and from what i see the company has steady year round work and you can come off dispatch for as long as you need, who offers that and still have a job. yeah it's not a perfect company but thier there for a driver that's looking for work and when you have a job you can always improve your status.

Hey All who responded to my question, I appreciate the feedback. So far I have been out twice with 2 differnet male drivers, both were decent drivers, treated me fairly, and gave me a good overall view of this company and how it operates. I picked up my first paycheck, jumped thru the loops they have for their 'recordkeeping' purposes. Not bad as far as my pay, the rest...well...its a trucking company...whatya expect? lol. Yes the equipment is old, there are a lot of things to be desired, but all in all, I do like the freedom of when and how often you can run.
Thanks.

Complete dump of a company! Stay away from them!

I am looking for recent information about Best 1 Trucking in Fontana CA. I like west coast - east coast runs and don't mind running team as long as we are running and not sitting.
-
Hey Cool, Can tell a little about why they are a dump of a company?

I stopped at the flying J in Wytheville VA today to fuel and a ratted out filthy old Fliner Columbia belonging to this apparent fly by night outfit pulledin beside me and 2 (foreigners) got out one pumped fuel for about 2 minutes while loudly talking to his partner in their language as he emptied 3 yes 3 milk jugs full of piss at the fuel pump I said to him thats not the way we do it in this country but both looked at me and said nothing put the empty jugs in the truck and left fuel island blocked and went inside I went in and mentioned what happened to the manager got my fuel ticket and left ..their rattletrap truck still blocking the island with trucks waiting to fuel at noon..by the looks of these 2 scumbags and the condition of the truck i would say that Best 1 trucking should be shut down...
