You are complaining about going 25 miles in 1 1/2 hours. George Washington Bridge/cross bronx expressway 10 miles 3 hours.

Everybody talks about the construction in Dallas & how bad it is.. I just cant believe that no one, out of this whole thread, no one said Houston, TX. That's got to be the road construction capital of the US. I'll take Dallas 1000 times over Houston once.
But then again, I go to Dallas once or twice each week, sometimes three times a week... I guess I dont go to the same places as you guys. Other than LBJ/635, I-30 & Loop 12, I don't see any construction.
And that I-35 construction dont start in the DFW area... It doesnt get started until you get in Waco an hour south of DFW.

Been about five years since I've been through there and was curious if 40 between Little Rock and West Memphis is still nothing but pot holes and speed bumps?

Michigan roads are made of heartache and potholes. There's 2 seasons - winter, and construction.

To me Houston is awful but for a different reason. The number of idiot/a-hole drivers in and around Houston has to be the highest in the country. Maybe second to El Paso in sheer stupidity. I can deal with SoCal traffic because it's predictable. You know when rush hour is and you avoid it, when you're in it you can generally tell when your about to get cut off and you can plan for it. In Houston it's always rush hour (exception is 1-3am when you'll deal with the drunks instead) and the drivers are completely unpredictable.

If you are absolutely in a pickle you turn your flashers on, pop the brakes and call the police. They might not be happy but they'll come out there and block traffic and get you out of there. It's a much better option than destruction or injury.
