Best and worst Waiters/waitresses

Golden Corral Restuarant, next to Arundel Mills Mall, Hanover, Maryland ...

behind me a group of eight extended family members taking up two tables. I estimated the bill to be about $95.12 The waitress told me that they left a tip of five dollars. I observed that she busted her butt to serve them quickly with drink orders. They left twelve tubs of butter behind and one whole serving platter of rolls along with half filled drinks. Most of the plates were empty except one or two that seem to have most their food still on them.

They should have left her a tip of $20 and not of five percent.

There is now a sign when you come in right at the bottom of the monitor for the cash register ... TIPPING IS A SIGN OF GOOD SERVICE.

The waitress certainly did everything to deserve that twenty dollar tip but did not get it. For my individual meal, I gave her a twenty-two percent tip. I got my Sweet Tea drink refilled three times, I asked for one roll and one tub of butter, which I finished. I got three differnt plates of food and one ice cream cone. I finished everything and even wiped down the table after putting the plates in the upper left hand corner of the table that was easily accessible for them.

On other news ... the parking lot that seems to be an area for trucks behind the Vitamin Shoppe but in front of the Wal Mart at Arundel Mills Mall was empty. I looked for signs banning tractor trailer parking but did not see any.

There was one lone truck on that gravel area between the Burlington Coat Factory and Costco just inside the perimeter road.

I noticed none of the groups around me left tips although the bill would have been about $9.75 per person. One individual diner left a twelve percent tip. I left a twenty-two percent tip and only one other individual diner left that same amount. The rest of the individual diners did not leave any tip.

Truck parking can be found in the Burlington Coat Factory / Toys R Us (this stand alone building used to be the Montgomery Wards) parking lot - west side between those businesses and the Sam's Club.

The Old Country Buffet is about four-tenths of a mile south of the Burlington Coat Factory / Toys R Us and it's on the same side of the road, Route 355.

I noticed that there was another waitress around my section of the restuarant talking to the first waitress that signed my reciept.

I followed her back near the door to the kitchen area and asked her when she came back out was there a shift change about to occur? If there was to be a shift change, I wanted to make sure that she got the tip and not the new waitress.

I gave me a bit more than a twenty percent tip. This waitress said thank you and meant it.

Not in the Golden Corral parking lot but just across the perimeter road in the Francis Scott Key Mall parking not, I did not see any signs against tractor trailer parking.

I 495, X 177 A ( Route 1, South going towards Fort Belvoir / Mount Vernon ) This restuarant is NOT in Old Town Alexandria but in the Fairfax County "suburbs" of Alexandria near car dealerships and hotels. Just south of the Washington, DC Beltway.

Holy Crap ! I just gave you a 25 percent tip. At least say thank you. BUT that was NOT forthcoming.

There is truck parking on the side streets around this restuarant.
