Best APU or idle w extra maintenance

    The air ride is nice but I'd have never bought 3500 unless you already had it.. 4500/5500 are trucks designed to do what you want to do. 1 ton's are trucks designed to haul a horse trailer to the rodeo or a RV to the campground not haul cross country every day. That's why so many guys end up having trouble with their 1 ton trucks, because the transmissions, rear ends, brakes and drive line aren't up to the task for that kind of day-to-day abuse.

    A normal APU is too big and heavy for a smaller truck.. You need to find a generator then some sort of AC unit.
