I am trying to pick the right terminal to apply to with Old Dominion. They have locations in Carson, Orange, Montebello, Irvine, Irwindale, and one other I can’t remember. I would like to mostly deliver around Los Angeles, so I was thinking the Montebello terminal. It would be great if I could find a place to live near the beach, and Carson would be the best terminal for that because I could live in Long Beach and not be that far from work, but I’m not sure about that area for quality of life. I could live in Newport Beach and get to Orange pretty easily, relatively speaking for LA traffic. Thanks for any advice.

How about Corpus Christi, TX I lived there for awhile; had apartment across the street from the beach.
Cost of living is much cheaper than California and no state income tax.
    Right on the beach.

    Hurricanes!
Seriously, I’m sure it’s beautiful, but I have friends in Los Angeles and I really want to be there for all the music industry stuff and record stores, and the weather. A friend of mine is a well respected recording engineer and I’m hoping to kind of become his apprentice in some capacity. His work and stature increased dramatically once he moved there from the East Coast. You have to go where the work is!
