I currently haul cars for my self with a one ton and wedge. I want to buy a class 8 and run flatbed with landstar/mercer or someone like them. I do not have any verifiable otr class 8 exp. so they will not lease me. Who would be the best otr company to train with to get my class A and then drive for to get my required year exp. Thanks. Im in NC and can go wherever for training.

Swift has a flatbed terminal in NC.

They don't do in house CDL training anymore.

Swift still has CDL training to get your CDL and has flatbed divisions. Not sure where the closest Swift school is though.

When I last talked to Schneider they said they no longer offer it in house. Only help with finding a school to go to. I can't afford to stop working to go to school

I'm sorry. Thought u said shneider. Looking at this on my phone. Very small letters.

Some CDL schools offer night and weekend classes. Some just go to weekend classes. May be some of those in your area.

The question of "what is the best CDL training" is one that's very hard to find an objective answer to because pretty much everyone goes through CDL training once, with one company, so they're not really equipped to make fair comparisons between multiple companies. Also a question of "what is the best CDL training" is a pretty broad question and it all depends on what you are looking for in your training to make it best for you.
A website called truckingtruth.com has a pretty good breakdown of company sponsored training programs although some of the information is a little outdated.
While doing extensive research on which company I want to go to, I ended up narrowing down to Prime and Roehl. Prime seems to be a very professional company who will have you make a pretty impressive wage once going solo, but the training is pretty extensive and you will run an eco 49 truck. Roehl seems to also be a very professional company and you will get through their training much quicker and drive a full size cab, but their wage is not competitive with Prime's.
Those are just the two companies that appealed to me. Do your homework and you will find which is best for you.
