Used to be a spot on 29 in Iowa around the middle of the state where there was nothing, not even phone.
Other than that, it's bullet proof. -
To be fair though I had problems with all those areas and then some on ATT also. Overall Verizon's customer service is better than ATTs.
I have T mobile for my data and use VZ as my backup. With a few exceptions I'll lose T mobile before I lose VZ.
I've worked for all 3 companies and VZ has better control over their network. I had ATT when I started driving only because I was still getting the employee discount from when they laid me off. Their spotty service and crappy customer service finally pissed me off enough to switch to VZ, where I get a retiree discount. -
Two phones. Unlimited everything is like $124 month.LoSt_AgAiN Thanks this. -
I've had good luck with Verizon. I was going to switch companies, but with the other 2 lines phones not being paid off it was cheaper to stay. I switched phones from a Motorola to a Samsung and found service where I thought Verizon didn't have service before.

I went from Verizon prepaid to ATT prepaid. IME, ATT is cheaper and better. Mostly run TX to NE, some SE.

Verizon has most coverage AT&T is second. There are a multitude of areas where Verizon has coverage and AT&T doesn't. There are also a few areas where AT&T has the coverage with no Verizon.
If you really want to expand your coverage area, buy one of these cell phone boosters:
Cell Phone Boosters for Trucks | Signal Amplifiers | weBoost
They really do work, I have one of the first gen ones. They won't create a signal where none exists, but if you are bouncing from weak signal to no signal it will pump that up to 2 or 3 bars. -
About the only places that Verizon won t work for me is some South Central parts of Texas, I 94 east of Glendive, MT to Wibaux, MT/ND line. And down US 191 through Yellowstone
