Can't say for that particular region, but I will say I got rid of Verizon because even up in the northeast I ran into so many" roaming areas" & got charged A LOT extra $ for those minutes. After only the second week of a monthly billing cycle they would shut off my phone. They would say my minutes had gone over my chosen plan & in order for them to turn my phone back on they needed me to pay first. I would then have to search out a shopping center store to do so, which wasn't easy! I guess I kept Verizon for 4 months & turned in my phone. They wanted me to pay an early termination fee of $200. It was worth it cause my plan was suppose to have been for $70 a month but within those four months of "roaming" I ended up having to pay $200 a month!
I now use Net10 & buy monthly prepaid unlimited minutes, text,& web for $35 month, that's 1/2 of what I was paying on that Verizon plan. I ran anywhere east of the Mississippi and only ran into a couple of areas I couldn't call out on, usually at some shipper way out in the country.

Nationwide, you have the best provider for coverage. Even the prepaid services that use the Verizon network do not work on ALL of the network. This is mostly in the rural areas.

With your bug companies Verizon has the best coverage but their prices are through the roof, att has similar prices but second rate coverage, sprint has unlimited but coverage sucks and then theres tmobile just say no. As for prepaid Cricket, Net10 and MetroPCS are all the same limited data but an attractive price. So depending on your needs I recommend the following....

    Most Coverage - Verizon
    Most Data - Sprint
    Cheapest - Net10

Cricket is a BAD idea if you plan on running through Nebraska a lot. I have Cricket, but I never leave Texas. When I was OTR Verizon Wireless was the best for me.

If you don't use data other than In cities I suggest t mobile if you like data I highly recommend Verizon and secondly AT&T and sprint sucks

I personally tested all of those providers myself with the 1 month cancel contract money back or whatever they had. So past 6 years I've had Verizon and they even have really good offers I started with 5 gigs of data now I'm at 30 gigs and my bill went up 10 dollars I had 16 for the price of 5gigs for a Christmas special offer then next year for 10 dollars I got 30.

I used to have Verizon with a grandfathered unlimited data plan and it worked pretty well anywhere a reasonable person would expect good coverage. Yeah I had places in the hills of West Virginia that I had no service but it's kind of expected.

When I left OTR I switched to us cellular who has the best network in my area. Now I'm back on the road and voice wise it's still better coverage than Verizon but data is ridiculous. There's only a few areas where they have their own towers, outside of that I'm on extended network and can barely get 1x internet

    S M D Thanks this.
