When I started out being an O/O, I tried going power only because I didn't have the money to buy a trailer. That lasted about 2 weeks before I rented one. After I bought my first trailer (used and worn out), I wished I had kept on renting. The surest way to learn in this business is by your mistakes. I now have a real trailer.

Look at tow away companies. I don't a trailer any more and I pull USA Truck Inc trailers. Rates are low but you can survive. I make $1.40 all miles I pick up an Empty at Staples drop it at a warehouse and grab a loaded one. They require 25k trailer interchange. You can also get on load boards if you know what your doing and pull Power Only loads.
There is options Werner, Knight, Schneider, USA Truck all have power only spots were you pull their trailer under your authority. -
I didn't take time to read this whole thread. But if you have you own authority why In the world are you leasing on to someone? I think you need to slow down on your truck purchase if this is going to be your business model.
TallJoe Thanks this. -
