I mentioned it once in my original post then corrected myself when someone asked because as I had said when I corrected, it's mainly me that wants him to matter to a company. Mainly because I want to make sure he is taken care of and by that I mean for example; if he's broke down (as a lot of reviews have stated in a few of these suggested companies due to poor maintenance or old trucks and equipment) then I don't want him having to sit for days while he waits for a tow or a fix or them not give a crap about him too because they have 58428457 other drivers that are still running and making them money. His priority is getting experience so he can eventually move up and go somewhere better as most of the "good' trucking jobs require experience of course. I just wanted to see if anyone had any suggestions really and I figured this site would actually be helpful and the people friendly and knowledgeable. It IS normal to be anxious and worried about your significant other venturing into something new and wanting them to succeed. But thank you for the advice.

Where hub is right now, the biggest obstacle will be the trainer. Regardless of the company name. Training companies are about all the same. The difference will be whether or not the trainer is some rookie with less than a year experience, or some chump that got suckered into a lease purchase agreement, or some fat narcissist on an ego trip. Get through the training phase and he should be okay if he’s a solid guy.

Yeah and I wasn't trying to come across as stupid or picky, I'm just uneducated in the field honestly. But I'm going for Registered Nursing, and that's amazing. It's definitely a rewarding career.

She went to nursing school in Tennessee, which is where I'm from. I left there years ago though.

Hey y'all, my husband got his CDL back in August of last year and was looking for some recommendations for good, reputable companies to start out at. He's had another job for the last little bit (not trucking) which is what's taken so long for him to get started but now that business is slowing down, he's wanting to start his new career. I've looked into Western Express, TMC, Melton, CRST and a couple others and it's a bit discouraging honestly. He is well aware that he is starting from the very bottom of the totem, but he doesn't want to get locked into a company where he's barely scraping by trying to make ends meet (I see a lot of complaints about pay from the companies listed above) and he doesn't want to be seen as just a number instead of a valuable employee. Now I will say, again he's aware he's just starting out and knows he isn't going to make six figures and that it'll be more like 50k or less even, but I've seen horror stories of people having to wait forever for loads with crappy downtime pay (not sure of the correct trucking terminology lol) and others complain about barely making $800 a week and always running and being gone. Can anyone suggest some companies where he can look to start into?

Not 100% sure if we take brand new drivers
We have trainers and run Dryvan and Refrigerated all our trucks are 2021 or newer
