Driver of 16 years here ready for a change of pace and go tanker. I've got a clean safety record, doubles and triples, tanker, hazmat and twic. What are the best companies to apply for entry level tanker training? I'm based in Virginia but no need to worry about traveling for a job as long as they hire me. I prefer OTR over regional because they always want to imprison me in the northeast. Give me a list, I'll do some research and sort it out from there please.
Best company for training?

I worked for QC on a dedicated account, and on rare occasion was loaned to another terminal to cover loads for them. I would recommend Quality Carriers for a first tanker job as they have good training and are pretty organized. Once you get 1-2 years a driver can probably do better.
I'd also agree with the Indian River recommendation. -
I know that Dana and QC will train an experienced driver in Chemical tanker. Schneider too but the pay there is less. Heniff, Altom, Ergon and Clean Harbors probably will. Chemical tanker usually pays more than food service. Detention and other accessorials like using the truck pump /air are paid without a hassle.
