Best company that will allow passenger quickest

Watkins Shepard minimal training period (no OTR training) and passengers after 90 days.

 

Maverick: 2-3 weeks orientation, 3 week minimum training, 45 days solo, then can take wife.

 

@MrEd how soon can a passenger ride along with Britton Transport? It's free too isn't it?

 

Unless it has recently changed, there is no 45 day solo requirement with Maverick. As of February 2016 the rider was allowed as soon as you were assigned your own truck. Also, there is no additional cost.

 

That is my experience as well. Soon as you are issued your truck to run solo you can take your Wife with Maverick. No extra charge either.

 

It is immediately upon completion of orientation and any training. I will find out and update you Monday, but I do not believe they charge. Maybe if you have someone kind of full time. But I know I've taken my kids for a week or two, and never been charged anything.

 

We had a recruiter come talk to us recently, and I think I remember him saying they want you to do 45 days solo first. He did say it was free. He said first year otr flatbedders should make 50-55k. Sound about right?

I would encourage anyone with an interest in Maverick to call them directly and clarify their position on this. It's my understanding that there is no waiting period. However, just because you read it on the internet doesn't make it true! LOL. In any case, good luck to the OP in finding a good company that fits their needs.
