Best company to go pure OTR with (aka no home time needed).

I'm an experienced driver who's trying to go get a pure OTR trucking job. I only need to get home in Florida once per year for an annual event I have to attend. Other than that, I can just run anywhere in the US and I'll simply stay at hotels any time I get a 34 hour reset wherever I am (unless it's in the middle of nowhere and there are no hotels nearby). That would serve as my "home time".

I started the onboarding process with Swift but I'm starting to question that decision for a few reasons. I'm barely into the process with Swift so I can easily apply somewhere else. What company would you recommend for what I'm trying to do? I should point out that my experience is a little stale. I have two years OTR in the last 5 years, and 5 years OTR in the last 10. A lot of companies would still hire me, but I'm sure some wouldn't. I also won't even remotely consider driving for any company with driver facing dash cams.

    Any recommendations?

Check out Britton Transport out of Grand Forks, ND. I know a couple guys who do that. They are good to me. I am in our flatbed division but they have a bigger van/reefer division as well. We are a smallish company, about 115 trucks I think. We are owned by Bison transport which is a much larger canadian company. Other than pulling their trailers some they seem to let us operate independently. Good luck!

I don't know about the cameras; it's hard to keep up with who has them and who doesn't.

Here's one I know nothing about, but the ad is from MacClenny, FL.
ILS - dry van & refrigerated.

I only need to visit Florida once per year, so that's not really a big issue. I plan on living on the road for at least a few years.

Why do people like Britton? Is it good pay, good equipment, just overall decent treatment, or something else entirely? What matters to one driver may not matter at all to another.

Decent equipment. You would have a newer freightliner Cascadia or Volvo 760. Trucks all have APU's, refrigerators. They all can be idled. Britton has never gotten after me for idling if I need to for comfort. They get me home when asked (I know not an issue for you), and I am always busy. They keep me running. They even pay for 34 hour resets if you do one away from home. Only $50 but still better than nothing. Also, being small I am reasonably confident they would be open to hiring you with your experience.

May have cameras; not sure. Drivers seem to like working there and have no bad remarks about the company.

My unconventional advice is to find a small trucking outfit. Most money I’ve ever made is working for a small company 5-50 trucks. I was booked days out and was going full blast.

Large companies have so many inflexible rules and poor loads.
