I am looking to start CDL school at York Tech Community College in York, SC next month and am wanting some honest opinions on which company is a good honest company that gives drivers decent miles and respect. My goal is to net around $700 a week and be out around 3 weeks at a time I really don't have a preference on what division I run flats, van, tanks or refrigerated. Just any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Submit lots of applications and start submitting them the first day of CDL school; don't wait. This gives you time to sort through the job offers, before graduation, and pick which looks best for you. Tanker/hazmat pays the best annually.

    Superior Carriers
    Trimac Transportation
    Tidewater Transit
    CTL Transportation
    SVTN
    Schneider Bulk(tankers)
    Decker Truck Line
    Halvor Lines
    Magnum Companies

    Top pay choices would be

    Werner
    USA Truck
    CR England
    Stevens

which each you might be able to break $7 net

oh wait you said $700 nvm

in all seriousness if you want to be respected and make good money right off the bat get in LTL as a linehaul driver
    some companies take noobies

if I was starting out that's what I would do

try this; using your home address as a starting point, conduct a trucking company search using a 10 mile radius search: probably return with more than five. Choose a Company they has the best home-time policy. Wages...report back at what you find out.
(Thousands of Trucking Companies exist...to say only 50 exist that are good...is false.
(Arrow Trucking Company had over thousand trucks, shut down due to owner embezzlement. Drivers were scattered across the Country. Wage avgs were over 800 per week.)
