I’ve worked at the company where I’m at for almost a year. It’s a private carrier (It’s not Wal-Mart) that’s really cares about their drivers, customers, vendors, and etc. the pay is competitive across the industry. During the last year I have been a casual, on-call driver and I’m patiently waiting for a full time slot to open. The point is this...you can tell a lot about a company by the turn over rate. This company has less than 1% per year. The attrition rate, i.e. retirements, are even less. Employees here are happy. Being happy is priceless. The competive pay makes it nice when you go to the grocery store. But happiness cannot be purchased with money. Oh, by the way, I might get a full time slot next year. If not, I will continue to wait.
